Marigold flowers are widely used, especially in garland making used for decorations. It is also one of an easy-to-grow houseplant. This particular local variety produces delicate yellow-colored blooms, small in size with strikingly beautiful appearance.

This variety can be easily cultivated in pots or in open land. Start by raising seedlings and transplant them into the desired pots or to the actual location once they reach a height of 10 to 15 cm. The ideal growing period for this variety is between August and February. To achieve a bushy appearance and encourage more flower buds, pinch the plant tips twice during their growth. keep an eye on plants for mites, aphids, thrips, leaf miners, and caterpillars. Feed the plants in small amounts of well-composted organic manure for every 15 days throughout their lifetime to ensure healthy foliage.

To safeguard plants from potential damage caused by strong winds and heavy rains, provide adequate support using stakes, poles, or ties for stability. This will help prevent breakage, especially for fragile stems and branches and avoid touching ground.

Raising Seedlings: Prepare a fine soil mix by combining garden soil or sand, coco-peat, and compost in a ratio of 2:1:1. This ensures optimal moisture retention, drainage, and nutrient supply for healthy seedling growth. Once the seedlings develop 6 to 10 sets of leaves, they are ready to be transplanted to their designated spots in the garden or into individual pots.
